    Oh noes....

The Great Movie Ride against Spaceship Earth?!?!?!? How will I ever decide. These are probably my top two dark rides that I have been on...

Ugh. Quite a bit of deliberation come for this one.

    Expect a lengthy explanation post.

Not even close to a joke. 100% serious.

Seriously? Journey to the Center of the Earth is without a doubt one of the greatest dark rides ever built in the entire world - and will likely remain in that spot until the end of recorded time. It's intense, it's surprising, it's frightening, it's detailed, it's immersive, it's high tech, it's got great show lighting, it's got great audio quailty, it's got probably the best audio animatronic figure ever built - far more impressive than Everetst's Yeti, it's smooth and the ending is very sudden, very unexpected, very, very fast and has a ton of airtime.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is one of the few rides that makes my very small list of top favorites -- Indiana Jones Adventure, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Harry Potter and the Foribdden Journey. It takes so much to impress me on the level that Journey (and those other attractions) did that there's honestly not even a 5th in that top five. I can honestly say that if Journey does not make it to the final round, this poll has not properly reflected the quality of dark rides as it was designed to do.

Hmm... I don't know, I just watched the video again and maybe it's simply a case of a video of the ride not being able to truly capture what it is. Much in the same way that a proper video of Forbidden Journey is impossible. From the video, it really doesn't look all that great. Just a simple ride through a glowy cavern. Insert random giant creature AA. Descent, airtime, unload station. I just don't think that I get it.

SSE and GMR both offer amazing stories, emmersive experiences, compelling scores. I don't know, both of these rides just hold a very strong emotional connection for me.

I would love to vote for journey, but I really can't vote for it just because everyone says it is amazing.

Your logic is not as irrefutable as you think.

I don't need logic to defend something as good as Journey! Here - I'll just come right out and say it - even the *best versions* of Spaceship Earth could not even hold a candle to how great of an experience Journey to the Center of the Earth is!
